The Chernin Group (TCG) is a privately held, independent media holding company founded by Peter Chernin. Chernin sits on the Boards of American Express, Twitter and Pandora. TCG has built, managed, operated, and invested in businesses in the media, entertainment, and technology sectors around the world since 2010. TCG’s assets include Chernin Entertainment, Otter Media and TCG Digital. Investments include Pandora, SoundCloud, Headspace, Scopely, Medium and Barstool Sports.
Adam started coding when he was 16, building GPS tracking systems in Matlab. The first start-up he joined grew to a $3B IPO (iBeam Broadcasting) – after that he was hooked on start-ups.
As CEO and co-founder of Kahuna, his team took it from napkin idea to a thriving company with $60M in funding, led by Sequoia Capital. Kahuna defined and led the Mobile Marketing Automation market, and has the privilege to serve The New York Times, Yelp, Yahoo, Overstock and hundreds of other market leaders as customers.
For the first seven years of his career, Adam held Engineering and Product roles at Facebook, Oracle (Siebel), Jarna (Mobile Apps) and AAyuja. Before starting Kahuna, Adam was a successful Venture Capitalist at Menlo Ventures and Bain Capital Ventures.
Outside of work, Adam created the Glow Foundation, a nonprofit that has provided financial education and aid to hundreds of thousands of college-ready students, improved financial literacy in America since 2006 and is now part of BUILD.org.
Adam received his BS in Computer Science from Stanford University, then went back to get his MBA at the Stanford GSB a number of years later.
Alex leads VoiceLab’s Product Management, Design, and Engineering functions. He is responsible for the core products and features that shape how developers and brands use VoiceLabs services to harness the power of Voice platforms.
Prior to VoiceLabs Alex was an EIR at The Chernin Group where he focused on strategy and investments in emerging platforms like voice, bots and VR, and previously was an executive at Yahoo and InfoScout.
At Yahoo Alex headed up the company’s publisher services, opening up content & ad platforms for publishers, marketers & advertisers. In 2012, Alex created the the #1 Facebook app growing the install base from 0 to 100M+ users in a single year.
At InfoScout, Alex was VP of Product, where he re-imagined how brands collect, understand, and influence consumer purchase behavior in the real world, and in the process disrupted a multi-billion dollar business.
Alex holds bachelor degrees in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics from the University of California, Berkeley.
When not wired in, you can find Alex on the tennis court throwing out his shoulder, or on the golf course not taking himself too seriously.
